Red. stock size. Crimp-on installation on the camshaft. Used to correct backlash (free play) between the cam gear (on the cam) and the pinion gear (the smaller drive gear). Too much backlash will result in clicking. not enough backlash will result in a ‘whining’ sound. To correct backlash you can either use smaller or larger pinion gears or smaller or larger Andrews cam gears. Note: See 503768 (.108″) and 503769 (.105″) cam gauge pins to measure cam gears and pinion gears. Note: To determin if you need a 70-E77 or a L77-84 model Shovel cam gear? Measure the outer diameter of the cam gear on the camshaft that is to be replaced. The 70-E77 cam will measure approx. 70mm.
